FAQ

Reservation & Arrival

A. We recommend booking in advance to ensure your preferred time is available. You may easily reserve your session online.

A. While we welcome walk-ins based on our daily availability, we recommend a same-day appointment to ensure a therapist is ready for you. We suggest calling us at 604-735-1338 or checking our online booking calendar.

A. Yes, we require a credit card to secure your appointment time. Please be assured your card will not be charged at the time of booking.

A. To allow our therapists to manage their schedules, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice should you need to cancel or reschedule. Please note that cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a 50% charge, and no-shows will be charged the full service amount.

A. We invite you to arrive 15 minutes early to begin your journey with a cup of tea and a moment of quiet. Please note that to maintain a peaceful environment for all, treatments must conclude at their scheduled time and cannot be extended for late arrivals.

A. Yes, we are pleased to offer complimentary underground parking for all guests. For a map of our entrance and detailed directions, please visit our Access & Hours.

The Umi Experience

Umi, named for the ocean, is a space where balance and reconnection meet. Our sessions mirror the quiet rhythm of the tides, providing a moment of stillness for a deeply personal experience. To explore our full selection of massages and facials, we invite you to view our Menu of Services.

A. We offer several ways to share the Umi experience. While most of our treatments can be enjoyed side-by-side, our signature - AI Package is a journey designed specifically for two people to experience restoration together. It is a thoughtful way to celebrate a special moment with a partner, a friend, or a family member in a shared space of tranquility.

A. Your comfort is our priority. Our therapists are dedicated to tailoring the session to your preference; please feel free to mention any adjustments to pressure or comfort at any time.

We provide everything needed to feel at home, including a Yukata (traditional Japanese robe) and slippers. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing for your arrival. For a step-by-step look at what to expect, please see our First Visit Guide.

A. Our sessions are focused on holistic wellness, relaxation, and aesthetic care. As our therapists are trained specialists in Japanese wellness techniques rather than Registered Massage Therapists (RMT), our services are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

A. Guests 13 years of age and older are welcome within the space. To ensure safety and comfort, those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Maintaining the quiet nature of the environment is essential to preserve the restorative experience for everyone.

A. To ensure the absolute safety and comfort of both mother and child, we are currently unable to accommodate guests during pregnancy. Our sessions utilize specialized essential oils and techniques that are best enjoyed when you can fully experience the intended benefits of our menu. We look forward to welcoming you for a restorative session when the time is right.

Payments & Gifting

For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, debit, and Umi Gift Certificates.

Yes, you can easily share the Umi experience by purchasing an instant digital gift certificate. Please visit our Gift certificate page for details and to select a personalized amount.

A. At this time, our gift certificates are available exclusively in a digital format. This allows for instant delivery via email, a thoughtful gesture that arrives exactly when intended.

Your First Visit Guide

The Umi experience begins the moment the intention is set. This guide is designed to support a seamless transition from the pace of daily life into a state of personal restoration.

Preparation & Personal Care

Taking a moment to complete the online intake form prior to arrival allows for a session that honors specific needs and health history. If there are unique health considerations, a personal consultation with a physician is encouraged to ensure the visit is safe and restorative.

The Arrival Window

Arriving 15 minutes early ensures that all preparations, such as a final check of the intake form and a comfortable transition into the treatment room, are completed before the session begins. This window protects the full duration of the appointment, allowing the journey to start exactly on time.

Attire & Comfort

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing for your arrival. Depending on the specific treatment, your therapist will provide guidance on how to prepare; for some sessions, disposable undergarments are provided to maintain high hygiene standards and ensure a sense of modesty throughout the session.

A Shared Environment

Tranquility allows for a deeper focus on personal relaxation. Silencing mobile devices and maintaining a soft speaking volume ensures that the stillness of the space remains undisturbed, allowing every guest to fully immerse themselves in their journey.
